Year end wrap up!

We're about 26 hours away from the new year and I still cant believe the year is over. This year was one of the most pivotal years of my life. I had so many lessons. Both good and bad, but something was gained from each situation. I met new friends and grew apart from some. I got off my ass and started my own wardrobe styling business which is doing great. I feel like a lot of what I wanted to do this year I did. My goal this year was self growth and appreciation and I have gained so much of both. I learned things about myself and started to connect with who I am. In 2013 I fell in love with me. I fell in love with Jordan Alexis. I'm so excited to see where 2014 takes me. I'm ready, willing and have an open mind and heart. I wish everyone the best in 2014!!!
P.S.- The pictures below is some of my work from the year! I have a few more but seem to misplaced them lol! I plan to work on my organization in the new year :)

NYE: Club Outing

New Years Eve is the one day other than your birthday that you are expected to get obliterated out of your mind for the sake of "celebration". I decided I would come up with a few outfit ideas for different NYE outings. So weather your bar hopping down in Fed Hill, or hitting Park in DC here are a few of my outfit ideas for the holiday. Be safe and turn up :)

If I myself were going to a huge party at a club or upscale venue would wear something more flashy than the standard NYE black and silver look. Colored sequence has been something I've been seeing a lot of this fall/winter season and this Envy Sequin dress gives the vibe of a fun chic time. Pairing it with Gianvito Rossi pony hair leopard sandals and vintage Chanel clip on drop earrings makes this look eclectic and fun but New Years party worthy.

NYE: House Party

I still have no solid plans for NYE but I know I will be in someone's house which means I will be dressing cozy, comfortable and CUTE! When going to a house party you don't have to worry so much about being under dressed or over dressed, that's what I love about house parties. These Kenzo booties look super comf and paired with the Givenchy printed sweat shirt, funky yellow Versace fur coat (Beyonce wore the full length one in her video for Blow), gold chain earrings and leopard clutch this "around the way" party look is not only functional but HOT. Ideally this would be my outfit for my NYE!

NYE: Bar Hoping

Bar hoping is a tiring activity within itself but bar hoping on NYE is a task! Getting through crowds, getting a taxi or finding a place to park and coincidentally having to park 5 blocks from your destination will be your nights of course you want to be comfortable. Go for a walking friendly look. If your like me you'll wear Vans just about anywhere so find your most comfortable shoe cold be boot or sneaker) and pair it with your cutest jeans and tee shirt or blouse. Sense where ever your going most likely won't have a dress codes mix up your patterns and colors. Comfort is the key. Trust me you'll thank me after your first 3 Long Islands.

NYE: Going to church

Instead of dealing with party lines and taking care of your drunken friend who drunk dialed you to come and get her from her ex's house (it's happened to all of us) you may plan to bring in the new year with the man upstairs. I myself went to church on new years a couple of years ago and noticed people dressed up. But just because your in church does not mean you can't dress funky and cool. Plaid was a huge trend this season and plaid on plaid is even bigger. Focus on a classy and chic look that could easily transits for a impromptu NYE party!

"Bey does WHATEVER she wants"

So on thrusday evening I'm laying in my bed on my way to sleep as I do my nightly "before sleep" stroll on Instagram & Twitter (we all do it) and Kid Fury (@kidfury) post a video of the iTunes download page and I see Beyonce's name at the top. I IMMEDIATELY log into my iTunes account and there it is, a full album and 17 videos from Mother B herself. I died, came back to life and died again. I had a very strong feeling she would drop her next project how she did, why you ask? Because she's Beyonce, duh! Anyway I drooled over every amazing look and then started my search for as many designers and info about each look as I could. With the help of fashionbombdaily.com and my keen eye for couture fashion I have the deets about her most daring and sultry looks. Enjoy :)
Pretty Hurts

Pretty Hurts was the intro track to this surprise project from Queen B and sets the tone for the album. She's portrayed as Ms. 3rd Ward, a self concious and somewhat confused beauty queen trying to win the crown. Some of the wardrobe choices included a Omo Gym longsleeved short set and Norma Kamali yellow bathing suit. The beauty queen vibe is defintly set by each look and it doesnt hurt that Bey looks amazing!

Haunted

Rocking a Ulayna Sergeenko's fall/winter 2013 couture black and white silk velvet jumpsuit B gave me a strong sexy androgny moment. Her finger waves were refreshing. I couldnt have thought of a better hair choice for both looks. The suit look is giving me a Madonna "Express Yourself " moment.

Drunk in Love

Drunk in Love is defintly a club banger you can get loose with your man too. She reminded you she hasnt lost an ounce of sex appeal since birthing Blue. In black bikni and floor length mesh cover up B twerks on the beach with Jay by her side. Is it me our were they both a bit tipsy durnign this video? LOL :)

Blow

Blow is my FAVORITE visual off of this project. The video captured the 70's sex vibe and racy lyrics matched. Sporting DKNY leggings and a $32,578 oversized Versace fur the eclectic look and neon colors set the tone for a festive upbeat track.

No Angel

Bey is proud to be from Houston and the culture that has influenced her music all these years. Wearing a white fur and white one piece swimsuit by Manfredonia outside of an abandoned house in the 3rd Ward ( I'm assuming) she shows her Houston roots. This look is giving me a Big Pimping moment. If you remember the white video girl with Pimp C in the video had a similar look like this on. Look it up.

Partition has to be the sexiest visual on this project and is my second favorite video. I love the black lingerie, red pumps and trench coat, it just fitting for the track. I love how in touch Bey is with her sexuality and is not afraid to show her husband how she is in charge. Im taking notes!
Jealous

Wearing a Vologda lace hand knitted pelerine from Ulyana Sergeenko’s Fall/Winter 2013 Couture collection Queen B gives the word jealous a new sexy meaning. I loved her Burberry Metal Plate Vinly Oxblood trench coat was my favorite. I remember seeing clips of this a couple of weeks ago and thought she was shooting for Grown Woman but this look fits the vibe of the song.

Rocket
Lingerie was only right for this sensual, seductive track shot in black and white. The tracks gives me that D'Angelo "Untitled" feel so clothes weren't even necessary if you ask me.

Mine

Mine was the most intriguing visual from Bey's project and had a nice "art" twist to it. The silver flecked piece by Central Saint Martins graduate Sorcha O'Raghallaigh gave the perfect mid- evil/ heartbreak tone.

XO
XO (shot by my favorite photographer Mr. Terry Richardson) is a fun youthful visual. Enjoying a day at Coney Island in a T by Alexander Wang white tank top, light-wash denim skinnys and a Biggie snapback Mrs.Carter rides rollecoasters with stylist Ty Hunter (my personal fav) and dances with models Jessica White and Jourdan Dunn. I can't imagine what the locals thought when they realized Beyonce was filming a video!

Yoncé

In an $1,150 3.1 Phillip Lim Leather Moto jacket with Leopard sleeves Bey (in my opinion) introduces her new alter ego Yonce'. With Chanel Iman, Jourdan Dunn, and Joan Smalls accompming her the model chic attitude is present through the entire visual.
Bey got surper rugid in her visual for Flawless with Bow Down as the intro. Wearing a plaid button up and denim cut offs with cheek exposed fish nets she gave us another "ladies anthem".

Superpower
In Superpower Bey wears a ski mask and matching mini skirt boots with ripped fishnets. The green hair and leopard bomber add the appropriate amount of edge for the visual.

Heaven

Dressed in an all white this look embodies a fresh look of life to me. This is one of the sadder songs I've heard from Bey over the years and I think the simplicity of each look was a key component of the  visual.

Blue

Blue is actually my favorite song from the entire project. I can hear the love for her child in her voice. I love the focus of the visual and shots of children in Brazil. Wearing a traditional carnival costume on the beach Bey brought us into her world with daughter Blue. How could you not love that face!

Grown Woman

And last but not least the visual for my summer time anthem Grown Woman brought to us in its entirety. On stage Bey and her dancers wore custom Kenzo pieces with the brands pink leopard print. Each costume she wears in each scene shows progression of her growth as a woman. The last two scenes show her in safari influenced looks to match the upbeat african vibe of the track.

I hope you guys enjoyed my synopses of the looks from Mrs.Carter's new AMAZING visual! Also a huge shout out and kudos to all the stylist that worked on each video. Ty Hunter, Raquel Smith, Lysa Cooper, Karen Langley, Marni Senofonte, and B. Akerlund.
