Waldo?

Hello everyone! It’s been another strenuous week of working my 9-5 and blogging! This past week I was so inspired by so many things. From walking downtown, hanging out with my friends and just reflecting on where I am in my life right now. I’m at the juncture in my life where I don’t have a choice but to change. Over my early 20’s I’ve gotten myself into some sticky situations and now I have to pay for those chooses. I have to prove to myself that I can work hard and get out this situation. I’ve made so many excuses over the years of why I couldn’t do something and now I’m at the point where I’ve run out of excuses. It’s do or die. There will ALWAYS be reason why you can get something done but at some point you have to out on your big girl panties and suck it up. Overall this chapter in my life is about patience, persistence, hard work and TRULY loving the woman I am.
But any who enough of the deep sappy talk. This week’s look includes a sale tee I ran across at H&M when the Owings Mills location was closing. This is one look I could see myself wearing to networking event, a quick girl’s night or even date night. It’s an easy look with tomboy edge. I was super comfortable and loved the way my neon sandals complimented the red stripes. I hope you find some inspiration in this look. See you next week!

"Some say it's clashing I say it's fashion..."

Hello everyone! It’s been another great week! I had a very relaxing weekend and now diving in on some new and fresh projects. In the coming weeks I will be taking a break from my outfit post to focus on revamping J Alex Style as a whole. I have so much to say and I feel that it’s time that I express myself in a “newer” way. I can’t wait to start to share my true passion with you all and start to exercise my styling gift more. I’ve come to a point where I know how I want to express my craft and now it’s time to put my plan into action.
Anyway this look was very impromptu. I’ve had this skirt for some time and haven’t had a reason to wear it. I covered the Boulevard of Chic event back in April and got this skirt form one of the Trucks there called Shop Tin Lizzy. It was so funny meeting the owner. I happened to be her very first sale it she had just started her fashion truck. This is funky print so I didn’t want to down play it with a boring solid top so I decided to pair it with another funky print. It could’ve gone either way, I thought people will love it or hate it. But either way I love it. I wanted to do a bright shoe but something to off-set the colors in both prints. I kept my accessories to a minimum and focused more on the prints. Hope you guys like this look as much as I do.

"Good vibes and energy..."

Hello everyone! I'm back for another outfit post! So this week I wanted to post my Favorite outfit that I've ever shot. So I found these pants at Zara in Georgetown one random Saturday and immediately fell in love with them. They give the illusion that it's a skirt but in they're palazzo pants with a mean silt up each leg. The top is actually my mom’s that I took from her. She wore it back in her glory days and I even remember seeing her in it a couple of times. All my other accessories are from H&M and I chose to not pair shoes with it simply because it wasn't how I was feeling. Hope you guys enjoy!

"I hate dress codes.."

Hello world! So I know I’ve been gone for a min but between working OD overtime at my9-5 and planning a surprise party for my best friend I was a bit overwhelmed with my schedule. But now I’m back and better than ever with fresh new material and ready to inspire you guy’s one outfit at a time.
So I named this post I hate dress codes because I have truly grown to hate them. Not so much in the literally sense but just the meaning and true purpose of it. I’ve found myself not carrying what the dress code for events is, and just wearing what I feel is comfortable and appropriate for me. If it’s a show and I feel like dressing up in a full freakum dress and pumps then I’ll do so or if it’s a night on the town and I feel like being in converses and an oversized tee than I’ll do that.  At this juncture in my life I feel that I need to 100% be comfortable in whatever I wear, wherever I go. This look literally is me. This is a look I feel that I identify with the most.  I know I’m almost 25 (September 3rd) but I’ll always be a chill girl who loves wearing Converses and Vans. I say all this to say dress by your own dress code, fuck what the masses thinks.
