Boulevard of Chic

This past SaturdayI had the pleasure of attending the first annual Boulevard of Chic event, a Baltimore fashion truck rally. I got to shop and meet some amazing people. This was my first time attending an event like this and overall I was very impressed. From the organization of the event to the merchandise each truck had to offer.
Honestly when I first heard about this event I thought it was very interesting. A truck rally for boutiques? As I walked the event and met the boutique owners and operators and studied the merchandise I realized that these trucks have a huge presence in future of retail. How convenient would it be if one Saturday night you couldn’t find a thing to wear and couldn’t make it to the mall. One of these boutique trucks could just come to your house and you purchased an outfit right there! In my head I was thinking of all the places these truck could park and just let the women flock to them LOL!
The best part of these trucks is the merchandise. It wasn’t just the regular pieces you see in H&M they were more unique pieces that felt like a better buy. You ever have a feeling those pants you just got everyone else will have them? Well I guarantee you won’t have that problem if you shop from a boutique truck. What I was most impressed with was the merchandising of each truck. It really felt like I was in a mini boutique. Almost all of the trucks had a dressing room in them and all were decorated and had a different creative flair. I went with no intentions of shopping but ended up finding some very different pieces that I cannot wait to wear. The staff of the event was more than helpful and very welcoming. I want to thank Lauren the head coordinator of Boulevard of Chic and of all of her volunteers, the event was such a success and I’m excited for next year! Take a look at the event through my eyes.
*Also there are links below to each boutiques website. Check it out!*

Street Style: FashionEASTA

So this weekend was a full of fun, networking and fashion! I have so much I want to share but I want to start with some of the looks I saw at FashionEASTAin Harbor East. I arrived to the event a little after the fashion show started and immediately started to study the attendees and I was intrigued by certain looks. Baltimore isn’t usually a city known for the best dressed but this event showed that small portion of us who make the extra effort to look amazing! I got to meet a lot of great people who share the same interest as me and I’m excited for what the summer (whenever it gets here!) has in store. Here are some of my favorite street style looks!

Meet Mrs.Jacquline. As soon as I spotted her I immediately was in love with her Brian Atwood Lodosa lace up bootie. She paired the heels with a Michael Korslarge Saffiano leather tote, striped bandage skirt and flirty red ruffle top to make a very city chic look! Thank you so much Jacquline!

Meet Sheena & Kenicia. So as I’m sitting at one of the tables at the event enjoying my sangria from Talara I spotted these two gems. Sheena was a familiar face that I’ve previously met and I was intrigued by Kenicia's look. Sheena looked adorable in a black tea length skirt paired with a cream embroidered crop top and a pair of navy blue pumps with an adorable broach on the top of them! Kenicia had on a Nanette Lepore dress (which I’m still thinking about lol) Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, vintage Chanel chain handbag and Prada sunglasses. Both looks were perfectly styled and a great look for the event! Also both of these ladies are producers over at FOX 45 news as well! Thank you so much ladies!

Meet Dami! Her custom printed dress caught my eye from a distance. She paired it with a pair of bright red Michael Kors flats and gold accessories. It was the most vibrant and alive look I saw at the event. Dami is also a blogger! Check out some of her latest post on fifthnsixthcloset.com thank you Dami!

Meet Mr. Bowtie Bob! Bow tie bob is someone who I have seen in Baltimore before but I knew I had to take a picture of him the min I saw him. When I asked what inspired his look he said "I just wanted to be comfortable. This is comfort to me". Bob wore a soft pink button down woven, boat shorts, a linen turquoise sports jacket, mahogany loafers, a straw fedora and one of his signature navy and Kelly green bow tie! Thank you Bob!

Meet Twiggy! Now this photo was actually taken at Boulevard of Chic but she I hit off by starting off with a compliment about her pants. Twiggy's entire look is thrifted and I loveeeeed her purple trousers! Twiggy is also a blogger from dc! Check out her coverage from this weekend on vintageappetites.com so nice meeting you girl!

And last but not least meet my best-friend Nesih! As all of you probably know this is my partner in crime. She came to the Boulevard of Chic to support me and my blogging efforts. She always has a laid back easy hippy vibe to her looks. She actually found these blue flats and Urban Outfitters a couple of weeks ago and I’ve noticed that they literally go with anything! She also has a music blog. You’re ears probably need some new tunes so go to 23rdsense.com and find some! Love you nelly :)

alexander wang X h&m

It’s official! Yesterday Mr. Alexander Wang announced that he will be the next designer to collab with H&M. Wang will be the first American designer to collab with the retailer and will feature both men’s and women’s pieces including accessories and apparel. I can already vision the groundbreaking collection that will arrive in over 250 stores around the world on November 6, 2014. Wang has established a cutting edge view on urbanized street wear. After only 7 years since first hitting the runway and winning the CFDA Award Wang continues to offer a refreshing youthful view to the industry. I’m looking forward to at least 3 staple pieces in this collection. November 6th cannot get here fast enough. Let the countdown commence!

“I am honored to be a part of H&M’s designer collaborations. The work with their team is an exciting, fun process. They are very open to push boundaries and to set a platform for creativity. This will be a great way for a wider audience to experience elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle,” - said Wang

Meet Nisan.

Meet Nisan! So I met Nisan on Sunday while I was doing a photo-shoot in Washington Monument Park. I saw her sitting across the park and first noticed her hat (which I asked to use for my model in the shoot lol) . She was sitting down so I couldn’t see her entire look but once she got up I couldn’t get over how cute her dress was. She paired it with a taupe ankle bootie and forest green and white tube socks. Her look gave me a natural easy vibe. Looking at her pictures she reminds me of Jimina Kirke (look her up she’s gorg!). My run in with her was so nice and refreshing! So nice meeting you Nisan :)
