J Alex 6 fav trends for Autumn

Hola’ stylish folk! Guess what today is??? THE FIRST DAY OF AUTUMN! I’ve been waiting for this day for this day since the first day of summer. I’ve never been so excited to wear a pair of boots and layer an oversized sweater with a smooth leather jacket.  Autumn is that last “cool” season of the year your time to be super stylish without showing an obscene amount of skin or freezing your ass off.  So this season I decided not just to pinpoint pieces that are trending but trends as a whole. From minimalism to different hues of red check out my fav’s for this season. Hope you gain some inspiration!

A minimalist is usually thought to be a person of simple taste and prefers a minimal amount degree of something. This season I myself am focusing on a simpler and clean look. I’ve noticed not just on the run way but in a lot of street style I’ve observed woman wearing a simpler look. White tee, a simple denim and a bold jacket or coat; staples are key. So this season focus more on buying basic tops and splurge on a coat or jacket. Simplicity is key.

Bomber jackets were a trend this past spring but have a heavier presence this autumn. I’ve seen them on tons of celebs and down the runway. Bombers a trend for any and every one and can add a dash of clean street chic to any look. I copped a grey one from Gap this weekend and have already thought of 7 ways I want to wear it!

Red! Red is a trending color this season and I myself I’m a huge fan of it. Red is the type of color you can dress up or down but will always add a certain leg. So start with a hot red skirt or dress and I guarantee it’ll spice up your fall wardrobe.

Backpacks are an overall functional bag. I’ve always felt weird about them, they were just never my steeze but I see them becoming a wide trend this season. I saw a lot of them at all the festivals I went to this summer. The backpacks I’ve seen are super stylish and versatile. I think I may wait to embark on this trend till next festival season.
What are optic prints you ask? An illusion to the eye, in this case an illusion on fabric. Optic prints have been seen on the runway for the past couple of spring seasons but most notably Mr. Peter Pilotto does it best! This is a more “risqué” trend but every woman can use some color and print in her closet. If you have a more reserved style pair an optic piece with a solid top or bottom. But be careful of what types of print you purchase, all of them are not so forgiving to all body types.

And last but not least the trend of snakeskin. Now I love almost every print but I don’t own too much snakeskin, come to think of it I had a pair of snakeskin slip-on vans but exchanged them for a cute sweater at Urban..anyway I’m getting off topic. Snakeskin is one of the more the sexy animal prints out there. It offers a edge of class that cheetah print cant. You can find snakeskin in dressy and casual pieces. This isn’t a print you want to overdue so be cautious of how you style these pieces.
